More puppies left today

I always have mixed feelings when the puppies leave; it is indeed a bittersweet time for me   Because I had 2 littrers (unusual for me) this time, this has been a long haul for me to care for singlehandedly.   We are getting through it okay, and by Monday all puppies scheduled to leave will be gone to their new homes.   I keep in touch with new owners because "I just don't sell puppies" is what I tell new owners.   I want to know how the puppies are adjusting to their new homes, environment, family,  training classes, housebreaking, and those irksome puppy behaviors (i.e. mouthing).   This can be a difficult, frustrating time for new owners when shoes are chewed, glasses, other belongings left around.   I speak from personal experience.   I frequently say having a puppy around forces you to have better housekeeping (lol).   My husband has had so many of his belongings destroyed because he never puts things away; I don't have much sympathy for him on that note.   I keep hoping he'll learn, but you cannot teach an old dog new tricks so it is said.

So far I have had nothing but good reports on the puppies who have left.   Only a mention today of one "mushy" stool.   It could be related to the transition to a new home, maybe that particular puppy doesn't tolerate the food as well as others, or who knows?........puppies pick up items in their mouths all the time.   My recommendation......watch carefully....add some canned pumpkin to firm up the stool, and if this continues, we can discuss changing food.......gradually, of course.   Remember, not every food works on all puppies, even in the same litter.   It's difficult for me to know here since there are so many in their puppy run.    I have had a stool check run just last week..........results.....no parasites, no coccidia, and no giardia.   Keep on top of this though, and we'll find the right food together.   Other fooods I recommend and I include.........Wellness kibble, NOW (a newer grain-free puppy food),l Flint River Ranch, and Solid Gold (must use C-pack with it to be nutritious enough) to mention a few.   I do not recommend Iams or Science Diet foods for the record.   Go to Whole Dog Journal to check out their recommendations for quality foods.   They rank kibbles in February of every year.   Your dog is worth spending a few more dollars monthly in order to extend his life and keep him healthy.   I'm sure you'll agree.   If one cannot spend at least $l.00/daily, then including a  family dog is not recommended.

One more thing............please let me know what you name you dog if you change name I have given him/her.   I always want to know their names.   Funny, the first two puppies still have the names I gave them in the litters.
