Sadly we have only 2 puppies in this litter, unexpected as this is. For those still interested, I plan to breed again in the Spring with a different, younger bitch. As for these two puppies, I plan to keep one; I have many past clients intereted in the other. So sorry for disappointing so many of you. If you are interested in a male pu ppy, I have a friend with a bitch out of my breeding who last I heard had 2 males available. Contact me if interested.
Right now I am up every 2 hours feeding these puppies, and I' rujning on empty. Sorry to diappoint so many people this litter. All of us are disappointed, too. Let me know if you sitll wish to be on my active fiiles.

It won't be long for puppies here.............yes, they're due on about November 23rd, and I'm so looking forward to having puppies here again. So much work, but they bring so much joy. Callie is a great Mom, but I'll be her right hand person if she needs me. This will be Callie's last litter before she retires from the ranks of motherhoood. If you are interested in one of these puppies, please complete the Puppy Questionnaire on this website.

So thrilled to announce our Callie is expecting puppies.........her last litter. Due on November 23, they will not go to homes until end of January. These will be special puppies..........sire and dam are both AKC champions with fabulous temperament. Isacc, sire won Winner's Dog last year at the National Airedale Specailty weekend. I've had my eye on him for a while, and Callie was his first time at sire. Callie has had her share of winning, too,,,,,,,,,,,Illinois Airedale Specialty weekend Winner's Bitch when she was showing. More importantly is that both have very sweet temperament. Looking for select homes for these special puppies. Comptee Puppy Questionnaire on this web site if interested.

Had a call earlier this morning from Becca's co-owner Susan Mercer saying our Becca seems to have morning sickness. Feeeling sorry for Becca but admittedly so excited to hear this news.............she is probably pregnant! We'll get the word mid September to confirm a pregnancy, and until then, all of have our paws/fingers crossed. More updates as they occur!

I'm thrilled to announce we'll be breeding our "Becca", Arley Hall Becky Thatcher in next week or two to Ch. Arley Hall A. M. Broadcast Mogul, "Imus", my most beloved and famous dog ever! I've been waiting and waiting for this to happen as are many of you. I'll keep you posted as to what's goikng on, but for now........I'm doing the Happy Dance!

I know how imipatient many of my future puppy owners are for another litter here at Arley Hall; heck, I'm impatient, too. I have been ready for quite some time, so I think it will be just around the corner. I'll post as soon as something happerns to either Callie, Becca, or Delilah. For Callie I must travel to South Texas to breed, for Becca to U. of MO, and Delilah will breed with Rhett.......at least that will be the easiest of all.
I'm so looking forward to another litter ......hang in there..........just a little more time folks!

I would miss him so much; he is so sweet so I'm happy he is staying. After all, it is God's plan for him!

Most of you who know me know I'll only place dogs in the best-ever homes. Mike and LouAnn are one of those. I know Stimson will be loved, spoiled, and cherished just like McRae was and Violet is now. They are the best dog parents around.
Stimson is my little guy who sleeps in my bed most nights. He's a bed hog, but I love him so much. Stim is sweet, affectionate, and the most wonderful male you'll ever find. He is a Callie son, so an Imus grandson.......beautiful coat and color, too. I'll be shedding lots of tears seeing him leave, that I know.
So wish my Stimson well........Ch. Arley Hall Bean Counter is also boarding school obedience trained as well as a conformation. So special to me. Farewell, my boy!

Sorry for not posting sooner, but so much has been gonig on here lately. I have 3 ladies in waiting and so many interested puppy buyers, too. I'm hoping one of these 3 ladies comes into her heat cycle very soon; watch, all 3 will go!
I am still energetic, but I'm not energetic enough to handle that all by myself, and that's how it is here......just me doing it alone. I suspect Becca will be first, and we have everything lined up for her; I'm excited about that breeding, and I hope it won't be while Susan's daughter is visiting her from Oregon.......too much confusion then. All of us must just be patient, and they will come......reminds me of Field of Dreams.
On a personal note, I am so upset.......our home has been robbed.......no breaking or entering.........of over 20,000.00 in valuables..........mostly my family heirlooms so I am just sick! My mom's ring bequested to me for my son and grandson....gone.... A beautiful aquamarine ring my late husband gave me on our 20th anniversary.....gone, not to mention select pieces of my family sterling silver flatware, some of my prize handbags, a couple of cashmere sweaters, and other pieces of clothing. What kind of a person does that? Someone I knew and trusted, but should not have. The police have been investigating, and the investigation is still open In the meantime, all valuables are now safely tukced away in a safety deposit box at a local bank........."nanny cams" are now installed, so I have assurances this will never happen again In the meantime I feel so violated!
Having some wonderful puppies here will certainly help my spirits. Until then.

My dear friends, I am both devastated and heartbroken right now. I took our Callie to my vet late yesteday after Whelpwise monitoring revealed my contractions and Doppler revealed no puppy heartbeats. My worse thoughts materialized. No evidence of puppies and no indication of uterine debris either.
This is the worst task for me.........notifying the potential owners at a time when expectations are so high for a new puppy. I was planning to keep one of these precious puppies for myself, too. In over 45 years of breeding, there have been only 2 misses here, and this unfortunately is one.
The investigation begins..............No semen evaluation was peffomed on the stud dog so was the semen "good"? Were the utrasound results actually accurate since a human ultrasound tech performed the test, or were the puppies resorbed? I'll continue to search and answer, but in truth, we may never know the sequence of events causing this loss for so many of us. My hearts goes out to all those excitedly expecting a new family addition and the heartbreaking news for them,, too.
Those of you who know me know I'm tenacious, not a quitter, and we'll go forward with another new, different breeding. I do plan to breed a Callie daughter, Becca next cycle using my precious Imus heritage. I think it is time to utilize Ch. Arley Hall A. M. Broadcast Mogul's wonderful background again. and bring forth into the airedale world some of the best puppies ever. I know all of us are still reeling with disappointment, but we will go forward.
In closing I will change puppies due to Fall, 2014. I had so many wonderful former/current owners interested in Callie's puppies, and I, too, was so excited to think about those puppies having such wonderful homes. Let's go forward, friends.

Last night I was awakened about l:30 a.m. by what, I don't know. I think Calllie needed to go outside, and she let me know about it. So I walked her outside on a leash, and she didn't let me down; she needed to go .......just like all us pregnant gals do so often late in pregnancy. This morning she continued with her voracious appetite......a few tidbits of leftover steak from last night's dinner over scrambled eggs, over Puppy Kibble. Woofed down every bit, and believe me when I say, the other dogs are jealous of her "special, privileged diet".
I monitored her with Whelpwise for the first time late yesterday but didn't get a good baseline.......need to remove more hair around the absomen I think. I'll try again this morning; that's where we're at for now.
Off course, you know she'll have the puppies this weekend, making it difficult if a vet visit is needed!]

We need your Puppy Questionnaire completed.............on the website if you would like to be considered as a possible Arley Hall puppy owner. We want to know our owners and make sure we have a good home, a match for a family/person. Thanks in advance. Puppies should arrive around April 27th.............yeah, yeah, yeah.
This does not apply to previous owners, and if you have completed one already, you need not submit another. Thanks much.

What a remiss Puppy Mom I am. Thanks to a Callie puppy owner who wrote us to congratulate her on her birthday, . I am now reminded.. Sorry, Callie. So much going on here right now between sending Noni off for training, Haven's physical therapy appts., and prep for Callie's whelp, I lost track Somewhere in between all this I had to make time for my own dr. appt.............I am fine I'm happy to say.
Callie continues to eat well...........another scrambled egg with cheese for her on her kibble this morning; she woofed it down. What a girl.............love her so much.
Happy belated brithday, sweet Callie!]

Last night's ultrasound reveals Callie, our beautiful sweet champion will be the Mom of about 8 or 9 puppies! Sire of this litter is "Q", Ch. Texter Quality Control, a happy tempered male who has produced some gorgeous dogs, including "Mick". "Callie, Ch. Arley Hall Calla Lilly, is daughter of my Imus, Ch. Arley Hall A. M. Broadcast Mogul, who was USA #l0 in his day; grandfather is Ch. Traymar Westchester Pearl Jam, the Westminster K. C. winner in 2000. I'm thrilled to be having this litter, and we'll see if the ultrasound is right this time.
So down to the business of getting ready for Callie's whelp. She's a good whelper and a great Mom; together we do fine getting through all this. I'm not denying it's a tiring experience for everyone, but I do it for love of the breed!
Remember, I do not take deposits until the puppies are "on the ground", and I am sure everything is okay. I'll be having a special Puppy Visiting Day for potential owners and those who will be owners of these puppies. I'll keep everyone posted on this blog.

Ultrasound in 4D tomorrow night! Cannot wait to confirm results!
|Posted by [email protected] on March 17, 2014 at 5:15 PM|
I have Callie scheduled for an ultrasound next Monday evening...........a special ultrasound. too. It's 4-D and shows up every little detail so clearly. Callie gets to rest like a queen on a human bed, too! All told, I am pretty excited about confirming a pregnancy. Of course I am wildly anticipating a litter of her puppies............she is so beautiful, calm, and has a wonderful temperament. I'll post something as quickly as I can to let ev3ryone know.
Puppies, puppies, puppies!

Finally....................Callie is now safely tucked away with the chosen sire. A long 2 days of drifving for me, and now I must do it once again next week. He's a beautiful dog, also an AKC champion like Callie, and I think we'll have some gorgeous, very sweet puppies in about 9 weeks' time. I do not take deposiits in advance as most of you know; I wait until the puppies are on the ground, and all is good. Any questions........please contact me by e-mail or phone.
Next up...............I'll be doing an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy; I'll post the results.
I'm pretty exhausted from 2 straight days of driving, and I came home to 2 howling males (Haven is in her cycle now) and freezing last night.............it seems the emergency heat strips did not go on. A wakeful night for everyone including my husband who was in rare form this morning (lol0.............you can imagine. It seems it hasn't changed the furnace filer (his appointed job) in over 2 weeks, and boy it was filthy. Hope this won't call for a HVAC visit today.

For all you previous Arley Hall Airedales owners, please remember I always give first priority to you. So, if you are possibly interested in one of Callie's puppies, please let me know. I've had lots of interest in Callie puppies; she's the best mom ,and her puppies are always so darn sweet. I'm thinking I better rest up; I'm in for it when puppies arrive.
Pray for Callie please...........for safe travels and lots of healthy, wonderful puppies and of course, for Callie's health. The worries of a breeder are many! Good luck and best wishes to my girl!

For all those who love Callie and her puppies, I'm hoping we'll have some beautiful puppies in about 2-2 l/2 months. Breeding to another excellent tempered dog with great health........both sire and dam are AKC chamions. I'm excited as can be. Just a reminder, I always give first preference to previous Arley Hall owners after my own choice that it, and if you are interested, please let me know. I've met this dog, and he is a terrific boy! More details to come later.
